Name: Kamioka, Rie
Age: 16
Date of birth: March 19th
Year: II
Height: 5'4" ll 163 cm
Gender: Female
Dorms/Home: Home
Club: Volleyball

p e r s o n a l i t y

Generally easy-going and amiable. The girl is often seen with a smile on her face and carries around a pleasant aura. Maintaining polite behavior, Rie treats everyone she meets with a healthy amount of respect, despite coming across some people in the world who only seemed to spat out trash. She believes that keeping good relationships and having a put together image is a beneficial attribution for getting through life; therefore, Rie retains a friendly attitude toward people surrounding her. A compassionate and genial friend who enjoys making frivolous and engaging conversations, she appreciates good company-- keen on meeting new and unique characters in life.
Hard-working, self motivated, and a perfectionist in some cases. Quite a useful characteristic to have, Rie is motivated for her own interest and advantages. She finds it unnecessary to be working for the sake of others-- instead, she works for her own benefit. The diligent worker puts in long and hard hours making sure her work is 100% to her best effort. Being a bit OCD about her work, it gives her anxiety knowing if something is not done correctly; sometimes she even disregards her own health in order to get the results she aims for [staying up to early in the morning just to make sure everything is done correctly]. Despite her idealist ways, the girl is extremely hard-working and strives toward her goals in hopes in achieving more things in the future.
[Falsely] Optimistic and rather ignorant in certain situations. Rie is an individual who likes to have an optimistic point of view of life-- however, that "optimism" she feels is anything but sincere. When faced with life's tough situations, Rie's automatic instinct is to attempt to look on the bright side of things to what she seems is beneficial. Her use of optimism in her life is nothing but a fabrication to make it seem like everything is alright, making herself ignorant to the severity of the problem. Since this is only a temporary resort, the situation may become ugly and Rie is forced to see the negative factors, usually ending up with her in an existential crisis or attempting to scour the internet in search of a solution. Underneath all the positivity motivational attempts to distract herself from issues, Rie is the type to easily fall into the black pit of sadness that wells within the dark untouched sectors of her brain.
Guarded, cautious, and quite vague when replying about details. Despite such a friendly demeanor, Rie stays guarded and tends to disclose little to no information about her inner most thoughts and background. Enjoys interacting with others, but she refuses to give much detail about her feelings and thoughts in return, remaining wary of how she is depicted to people. She likes for people to think of her as a affable person and tends to give nothing but friendly conversations and plentiful smiles in order not to shatter that image she set for herself. If she can't say negative comments, she could definitely think them-- having the majority of her own critical opinions on the world be piled up and locked in her mind to collect. Rie is very cautious when creating an attachment toward others due to her fear of letting go. Her cautious nature makes it difficult for her to make a personal connection with others-- instead likes just to keep personal emotions at a distant level. Prefers to avoid interrogation slyly with short and vague answers, hoping the individual would just graze on over it and avoid poking into her own thoughts that are locked away for only herself to know.

tl;dr :: Rie had quite the lonely childhood until she learned to change the way she is portrayed to others, maintaining her ideal "friendly" image. She gave up others expectations and became self-motivated in junior high before her parents divorced and soon came to the decision to move to her aunt's home in Kawasaki to get away from her mess of a household.
Born in Tokyo, the city bustling with people and extravagant attractions, Rie grew up in a well-endowed family. As the only child branched off of two individuals successful in their occupation field, Rie lived lavishly and was often showered with gifts to make up of the absence of her busy parents. Despite her parents tried their hardest to make time for the child, Rie was quite the lonely kid and frequently longed for someone to connect with. Although the stereotype for a only child was a life of love and comfort, Rie felt rather uncomfortable in her own house and maintained quite a sad kid for most of her childhood.
The majority of Rie's unhappiness definitely showed through-- especially in primary school. Her snappy remarks and depressing attitude repelled other kids from befriending her. She spent the majority of her years in primary school in solitude, not making a single friend mainly because she was unsettling and no one liked her. As the end of primary school approached, she realized she needed an attitude change if she didn't want to alone again. Among one of her first masks she used, she continued on to junior high in hopes of becoming more approachable.
In her junior high years, she was expected to do well in school-- having the constant pressure to succeed in sake of her family's pride. Although her attitude changed and she had a healthy amount of friends, she was quite stressed and anxious due to the constant pressure. She was doted on for not studying and spent majority of her time putting her head into books. During her second year of junior high, she honestly just gave up and did what she wanted to do-- trying several different sports/clubs, hanging with friends, etc... The girl eventually stuck with volleyball, the sport allowing her to release her anger into hitting the ball. The stress lifted up off her shoulders and she felt relieved, telling herself that she wanted to achieve things for her own benefit and not for any other person. She liked the feeling of achieving her own set goals and worked hard for her own satisfaction. Being a hard worker that was self motivated, she excelled in academics and actually felt like she was doing something with her life.
Around the end of her junior high years, a conflict happened in the household that caused bickering and havoc. However, Rie wasn't mature enough to understand the issue her mother and father were arguing about-- although now that she is older, she understands it well and feels quite helpless that she couldn't do much about the situation. She knew her father was often away at work, however, it felt quite strange when he would only be coming home once a week-- to her surprise that all her father was "working" on was his relationship with his co-worker, a younger woman somewhere in her late twenties. Rie's mother found out their relationship and even how his mistress was pregnant with his child; she fell at rage and demanded for a break-up. The man was hesitant and defiant, feeling sympathy for the child in his mistresses belly. It resulted in a divorce and her mothers emotional break-down. Feeling like she couldn't bare to live in such a mess of a household, she moved over to her aunts place in Kawasaki, where her aunt welcomes her in with open arms.
As Rie moves on into highschool, she hopes to achieve more things for the better and maintains a good attitude toward her new coming school year. (?)
[this bio is actually disgusting i am so sorry i will revise it and rewrite it gomen /weeps]
Relationships: [To be updated as she meets new people]
Kamioka, Junichiro ll 50, Father ll Rie's father, a successful neurologist and tea enthusiast. Had quite the good relationship until it eventually soured and became distant. Wants to initiate blame towards him, however felt like taking the rational decision in avoiding him and breaking off ties. After he divorced with his wife, he moved in with his mistress and child and Rie chooses not to contact him.
Mizuhara, Maurine ll 47, Mother ll Rie's mother, a successful lawyer of Japanese and Irish descent. Has a rather strict but loving (?) relationship with Rie. Though a cynical person, she genuinely cares for Rie and pushes her toward making good choices for a successful future. Couldn't feel like she had time for Rie though and instead let Rie move in with her aunt because she felt as if her emotional state wasn't quite prepared for taking care of a child-- especially one who comes from a "deadbeat" father. Occasionally has talks with her, but still feels distant.
Mizuhara, Naomi ll 42, Aunt ll Current care-taker and an extravagant character. A flower shop owner that lives in Kawasaki, her lively and bubbly attitude brings smiles to others. A good companion and listener, she makes Rie feel a least a bit welcome.
Mizuhara, Naoki ll 15, Cousin ll Naomi's son, and the cousin she lives with. She finds him attention-seeking and calls him "gomi" which literally means trash. One of the only people she is purposefully rude to-- although she likes to poke around his personal life.
Kamioka, Mayu ll Some age, Half-Sister (?) ll Alleged child that branched off from Rie's father and his mistress. Doesn't know much about her and doesn't care to find out.
